A cold rain falls over a sleeping city as a lonely man walks home through empty streets, his coat soaked and his eyes hollow with exhaustion. Every night feels the same — work, silence, regret. He passes glowing apartment windows where families laugh together, reminding him of everything he lost years ago when he pushed away the woman he loved in exchange for ambition and pride.
One evening, while waiting at an old train station after missing the last bus, he notices a little girl sitting alone on a bench holding a paper crane. She looks strangely calm, almost unreal. She asks him a simple question:
“What was the happiest day of your life?”
At first he ignores her, but something about her voice forces him to remember. Slowly, fragments return — sunlight through café windows, warm laughter, holding hands in the rain, promises he thought would last forever.
The girl listens carefully and then says:
“If you could go back… would you choose differently?”
Before he can answer, the station lights flicker. A train arrives out of nowhere, silent as a ghost. The doors open. Inside, every passenger sits motionless, staring forward.
The girl walks onto the train and turns back toward him.
“You still have time.”
He follows her.
As the train moves, the windows begin showing scenes from his past instead of the city outside. He watches himself making selfish choices, ignoring calls, choosing work over love, convincing himself there would always be another chance.
The little girl finally reveals the truth: she is the daughter he never knew he would have had if he had stayed with the woman he abandoned.
The revelation crushes him.
The train suddenly stops. He finds himself back at the station years earlier, moments before the decision that changed everything. His phone rings — her name appears on the screen.
This time, his trembling hand answers.
The story ends with sunlight replacing rain as he runs through crowded streets toward her, while the mysterious train disappears forever into the morning fog. The final shot shows the paper crane left behind on the station bench.
