The magician who came from football
The first act that sticks is Jano, a 37-year-old from Madrid who says he is there to prove that “nunca es tarde para reinventarse.” He spent his life in professional football, then a knee injury forced a new path. “Hace un par de años, pues me lesioné la rodilla y tuve que reinventarme,” he tells the judges. “Y hoy en día, pues me dedico a la magia.” Risto answers with a joke that lands because it is true: “Como Julio Iglesias igual, pero con magia.”
Jano’s routine is built on the judges’ own signatures. He asks Tamara to sign a blank card, then asks Risto, Paula, and the rest of the panel to sign playing cards. The cards are folded, broken, signed, and reassembled. “No parpadees, porque si parpadeas te lo pierdes,” he warns. The blank card becomes a two of spades, and Tamara’s signature appears on it. Risto calls him “talento bestial.” Tamara says his story moves her because her uncle Julio also changed careers. Risto gives an “absolutely” yes. Flor, who says “Para Flor no hay estafa posible,” votes no. Jano leaves with two yes votes and a story that outlasts the trick.
The ball that learned to float
Danelo enters with a crystal sphere and calls his act “un pequeño aperitivo de mi espectáculo de malabar de contacto.” Contact juggling is quiet, but it demands a different kind of control. The ball moves across his hands, arms, and body as if it has weight and intention. Risto breaks the performance into four levels: the ball does not fall, the ball floats, the ball takes on its own life, and the juggler disappears. “Y tú has alcanzado los 4 niveles,” Risto says. Danelo earns four yes votes, a full board.
Dance, acrobatics, and the red light
Cohesión mixes pop, hip hop, and dance show. Their precision is clean, but Risto gives the red light because the performance did not hold his attention. “No basta con hacerlo sin fallos, hay además que atrapar la atención del que os está viendo,” he says. Paula gives the first positive vote, and the group leaves with three yes votes. The lesson is blunt: technical control is the floor, not the ceiling.
Maxim’s acrobatic act opens the video with a different kind of discipline. A judge says the level requires “mínimo, 6 horas diarias” of rehearsal. “Esto no solo es talento, esto es talento y disciplina, talento y constancia,” he adds. The group gets three yes votes, but one judge calls the spectacle “bastante flojo” after the opening figure. The split vote shows how quickly a strong opening can be undercut by a thin middle.
The rest of the stage
The video keeps moving through acts that test different nerves. A cook has one minute to finish a mystery dish. A blindfolded eater returns with a twist. A fan from the audience comes back as a singer. A 16-year-old singer carries a tenor voice and ends in tears. An acrobatic duo says they risk their lives. A dog dances better than a judge trying fouettés. A performer predicts five things in seconds. Another studies the judges’ Instagram accounts. A fan knows every goal, time, and scorer from a match.
These moments are not just variety. They show the same pressure from different angles. The stage asks for skill, but it also asks for presence. A magician can hide a card, but he cannot hide a weak story. A dancer can land every step, but the audience can still drift. A juggler can make a ball float, but the judges still decide whether the illusion has a point.
Spain’s Got Talent 2024 auditions are a long, uneven, and often funny look at what happens when ordinary people bring extraordinary practice to a public stage.
