Some of us remember when a song like "Piano Man" came out of a jukebox in the corner, the needle crackling a little before the harmonica started. You'd hear it over the hiss of the grill and the scrape of chairs. It was the kind of song that made a whole room sing along.
On Dancing with the Stars Dedication Night, that song came back in a new way. Connor Wood and his professional partner, Rylee Arnold, danced a Viennese Waltz to Billy Joel's "Piano Man." The Viennese Waltz is a dance of turning and turning, and the song's easy three-count sway suits it well. It's a match an old-timer can appreciate.
Dedication Night is a theme on the show's calendar, and this was the routine Connor and Rylee chose to perform. The video above shows the whole dance.
Dancing with the Stars airs live Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+, and it's on Hulu the next day. Like an old song on the radio, it's worth sitting down for.
